The Department of Neurosurgery started in 1978 with only 1 (one) faculty member. Gradually 2 (two) more faculties joined the department. In 2008, Post-Doctoral MCh course started in the Department of Neurosurgery with only 1 Seat gradually it increases to 3 seats per Year. Presently the Department has five faculty members and 1 consultant in a fully well equipped department in Cardiothoracic & Neuroscience Center(CN Center) with high end Instruments with modular operation Theater and highly equipped Neurosurgical ICU which is currently operational from May,2022 rendering both elective & emergency Services to the People of Assam & North East India.
