Services

  1. UG and PG Teaching & Man power development.
  2. Training programme for Doctors and Paramedicals.
  3. Ophthalmic health care service delivery at Tertiary level as the Apex Ophthalmic Institute under Govt. in the state.
  4. Community Ophthalmic Health care Delivery including operation and screening programme.
  5. Arranges state and National level seminars/symposium/workshops, in addition to usual R.I.O academic activities.
  6. Director, R.I.O acts as the ophthalmic adviser to the Department of Health, Government of Assam.
  7. Speciality clinics, namely- Glaucoma, Medical Retina, Oculoplasty, cornea, squint & amblyopia clinics are held regularly. Surgical Retina to be started shortly.
  8. It started the State of the art Modular OT since 2013, first of its kind in Eastern India. It is also equipped with plasma sterilization facility.
